President's Message

Hi! I'm Tom Anstett, and I have the pleasure of serving as President of Space Coast Wood Carvers. Since joining in March 2009, my journey has been filled with creativity and camaraderie. I first heard about the club while crafting furniture in my home workshop, thanks to a friendly neighbor who sparked my curiosity. After a few months of lively conversations and flipping through carving magazines, I finally visited—and was instantly hooked. Every week brings a new skill to master and a fresh project to tackle, with members always eager to lend a hand. I look forward to each club meeting, reconnecting with old friends and welcoming new faces. If you’re curious, stop by and discover the joy of carving with us. We think you’ll love it here!

Whether you’re a seasoned craftsman or just starting out, you’ll find a community ready to welcome you. See how SCWC can benefit you!

Annual Membership is only $30.

Your dues help run the club, provide a space to work, learn and participate in several activities.

What we offer:

• Opportunities to share and celebrate your work.

• Help with your projects - Our members are all full of ideas and have decades of experience to help you make the most out of your projects.

• Free demonstrations from carvers, pyrographers, turners, and more at meetings.

• Occasional potlucks and holiday events.

• You may have opportunities to sell your work, tools you no longer need, and get commissioned project requests.

• Opportunities to teach and show your craft to a captive audience.

• Carving classes during the year.

• Opportunities to demonstrate carving at community events

• Use of our Club library. Carving books and magazines may be checked out for 2 weeks at a time.

• A complimentary club decal & patch

• Shirts & other apparel available for purchase.

You also have the ability to expand your experiences with other related topics such as: chip carving, pattern transfers, wood burning, power carving, relief carving, painting and more.

Learning carving techniques from experienced carvers is one of the best ways to develop into a great woodcarver.

We offer internal classes that a new carver can complete to learn a particular technique.
